EdcampKC Update: Gear and October Deadlines!

EdcampKC is coming up on Saturday, Nov. 8th! We are super excited to bring together KC and midwest area educators for face-to-face conversations and camaraderie! The  edcampKC team of Kyle Pace (the godfather), Laura Gilchrist, Mimi Jones, Michelle Nebel, Eric Langhorst, Brent Catlett, and Ken Corum has been busy setting the stage for collaboration and community. We couldn't do it without our EdcampKC sponsors, hosts, and friends. Many thanks to all of you.

Gear

The great folks at KC's own Bandwagon Merchandise have crafted a killer logo complete with the edcamp apple and the Nelson-Atkins' columns and shuttlecock.

We opted to go with the open source KC letters used by businesses, government agencies, and event planners here in KC.

Order Here and you can pick up your tshirt the morning of EdcampKC at the registration table! ($10)

Deadline for orders is October 10th!

We'll have EdcampKC stickers (oh yea!) out for you at the Tweetup and at the Nelson.

Our Tshirt design, fresh from Bandwagon Merchandise here in Kansas City! Thanks to Christian and Ryan at Bandwagon for the logo and printing!

Nelson-Atkins

EdcampKC will be at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art for the 2nd year in a row. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn with hundreds of educators at this simply outstanding museum. I am a proud member of the Nelson--in awe every single time I visit. It is my hope that educators who attend EdcampKC will take ideas and inspiration back to their schools. Kids benefit from art-infused learning experiences across the curriculum.

The Nelson Doors open at 9 a.m. on November 8th. The Bloch lobby will be filled with the aroma of KC's own The Roasterie coffee. We will have Nelson-Atkins staff leading tours and hosting visual thinking/STEAM workshops. We are working hard to make sure wifi will support us with many people and devices.

We get to use some new rooms this year. One is a networking/collaboration/conversation room complete with food, drink, and Kyle Pace's Mom's Cookies! The other is a larger room for conversations complete with AV and cool lighting.
